Lindsay’s is a very small town, living here all my life I’ve learned many things; such as finding myself as the person I want to be and learning all the “What if’s” , “Should’ve” , or “Could've”. My family has helped me chase my dreams in so many ways, they've encouraged me to succeed in anything or anyway I would want to. Because of my family and all their support and help I am the person I am today.
Being the oldest and the only girl in my family, I’ve taken a lot of responsibilities to playing my role. My brothers mean the world to me, which is why I work so hard to make them proud. I want them to follow my steps such as attending a 4 year university and going to school to get a good career and a well paying job. My relationship with my brothers means more than anything to me, I will do anything for them, I will always protect them and support them in anything they would want to do.
My community has affected me since knowing people are always watching you. In my small community everyone knows everyone, people know if you’re involved such as playing sports or volunteering for any community program, and people know your struggles. Coming from a small town I hope to be prepared to move to a bigger city. School to me affected me in different ways as well by preparing me to deal with certain problems with any student make encounter with throughout college. For example, deadlines to me has been a struggle but our Performance Based System has changed my perspective on time management. Being independent is another quality I’ve learned here at Lindsay High School; students here are treated like adult and expected to be able to know how to make it out on our own after high school.
The world I live in is a roller coaster, I have ups and down but I’ve come to learn to not let any of these problems get the best of me. Every situation I go through helps me become a better person and I learn more about myself. I definitely don't take my life for granted, I cherish every time I spend with my family and close friends. Living in a crazy world you never know what struggles will come to you, but i do know I have the strength to overcome anything.
